The Lakers are 34-8, any trade they re making right now is not for the regular season but for the playoffs therefore we should approach any trade evaluation with the assumption that LeBron is on the court for at least 42 minutes per game.

I am far more interested in a player who is capable of running things for the 6 minutes that LeBron sits and can help out in the 42 minutes he doesn t than I am in a player whose value is wholly concentrated in the 6 minutes LeBron sits. For that reason I like Collison better than Rose.

When I look for players to add you have to bring both shooting and plus defense to the table, Rose brings neither and the role he plays right now in Detroit will only be available for a maximum of 6 minutes per game in the playoffs.

You gotta consider though that Lebron has also flourished playing with guards that dominate the ball, Lebron has been perfectly fine with a taking turns kind of offense with Kyrie/DWade.

Having another elite ball handler to take advantage of an offense centered around spacing would open up a lot of options offensively and I think the team would be in much better shape on offense.

The thing is Kyrie was a far better shooter than Rose, to the point that it s not even worth comparing.

As for Wade, in his first two years in Miami he was also a far better player than Rose is now and in his last two years when his decline began in earnest the Heat were often at their best without Wade on the court. LeBron + 4 shooters is what led the famous 2013 game 6 comeback with JVG openly wondering whether they should even play Wade at all in overtime.

If you re going to be a non-shooter next to LeBron you need to be like 2011 2012 Wade and Rose is not.
